A Tinder date ended in a woman’s death and now one person faces a murder charge, authorities said.
Last week, police announced the arrest of Cody Allen Gerber, 31, in connection to the 2-2020 case. He was charged exactly two years after Emily Pritsch, 24, was reported dead.
On Oct. 4, 2020, the Northern York County Regional police in Pennsylvania were contacted about a suspicious death. Gerber reported that Pritsch was dead in a vehicle, according to police.
He said they had been together for several hours before she died, according to police.
Gerber said he spoke to Pritsch on Tinder, a dating app, and the two agreed to meet at a local bar, police said.
Her death was later ruled a homicide because of multiple traumatic injuries and fentanyl toxicity, police said. Fentanyl is a powerful opioid that is often mixed with other drugs to enhance the effects, but a small amount can be deadly.
Pritsch also had numerous bruises to her head, neck, chest and abdomen.
Police also said they found videos on Gerber’s cell phone that showed a woman, Pritsch, naked and in the fetal position the hours before she was reported dead. One video showed what appeared to be Pritsch seemingly dead. It had a caption on that video that read God had taken an angel.
Authorities charged Gerber with third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter and abuse of a corpse.
