Six teenagers were injured in a terrifying shooting outside a Brooklyn event venue after attending a birthday party.
The incident unfolded around 1 a.m. on Dec. 14 outside Burbuja Events, just minutes after a 16th birthday celebration had wrapped up, according to reports. The victims—two 15-year-old girls, a 15-year-old boy, two 16-year-old boys, and a 17-year-old boy—suffered gunshot wounds to various parts of their bodies. One girl was shot in the chest, hip, and leg, while the others sustained injuries to their arms, legs, and feet. All were rushed to local hospitals in stable condition.
Authorities say two male suspects, dressed in dark clothing, were seen fleeing the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and police are actively searching for the shooters.
Eyewitness Ebony Sanders described the scene as chaotic, with paramedics and police rushing to help victims one by one. “I’ll say a prayer for everyone involved,” she told local media.
Burbuja Events confirmed they are cooperating with authorities and extended their sympathies to the victims and families. City Council Member Yusef Salaam also expressed his shock, saying no young person should ever be harmed in their own neighborhood and calling for continued investment in prevention and community safety.
