Authorities in England have arrested four men in connection with the tragic deaths of two teenage sweethearts who were found dead in a vacation cabin earlier this year.

Cherish Bean, 15, and her boyfriend Ethan Slater, 17, were discovered unresponsive on Feb. 18 at Little Eden Holiday Park in Bridlington, according to Humberside Police.

Investigators believe the teens may have died from carbon monoxide poisoning while staying at the holiday park with Cherish’s family.

The couple had been vacationing together and were sleeping in a nearby rental cabin separate from the rest of the family. According to details shared during an official inquest, both teenagers were described as healthy and in good condition before the tragedy unfolded.

On the night they died, Cherish reportedly complained of a headache. Her mother gave her medication before the teens went to bed, according to testimony reported by the BBC.

They were later found dead inside the cabin.

Police quickly launched an investigation into the possibility that a dangerous buildup of carbon monoxide inside the property may have been responsible.

Detectives have since removed a boiler from the cabin, which is now being examined as part of the investigation.

Three men were initially arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter. They were later released on conditional bail while the investigation continued.

Now, authorities say a fourth man has also been arrested in connection with the case. It remains unclear whether any of the suspects have been formally charged.

According to investigators, the men are connected to the management and maintenance of the holiday park where the teens were staying.

Meanwhile, the families of Cherish and Ethan have been left devastated by the sudden loss.

Cherish’s mother shared an emotional tribute to her daughter following the tragedy.

“My girl, my world, my love, my everything,” she said in a statement released through police. “My perfect girl, my angel, has left this world and we are broken as a family. I am broken as a mother and I will never ever be the same again.”

Ethan’s parents also honored their son and the love he shared with Cherish.

“Ethan, you will always be remembered for the amazing young man you were and the one you were destined to be,” his mother said.

She also spoke about the couple’s close bond.

“Cherish was the apple of Ethan’s eye. Everyone could see how smitten they both were. She was beautiful, elegant and made Ethan happy. We know you will keep each other young and safe. Look after each other. Rest in peace.”

The investigation into the teens’ deaths is still ongoing as authorities work to determine exactly what caused the suspected carbon monoxide leak.
