A New York City bus ride turned deadly Monday when a teenage passenger allegedly shot and killed a man who complained that he was talking too loudly on his phone, authorities said.

The shocking broad-daylight shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. on a BX36 bus near East Tremont Avenue and White Plains Road in the Parkchester section of the Bronx, according to police and law enforcement sources.

Authorities said the 41-year-old victim got into an argument with the teen, who was reportedly talking loudly on his cell phone while riding the bus.

The dispute quickly escalated.

Police said the young suspect, believed to be between 13 and 16 years old, pulled out a black handgun and shot the man in the stomach.

The victim was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries, police said.

The teenage gunman fled the bus after the shooting and ran south on White Plains Road, according to authorities. He was still being sought later Monday afternoon.

Police said the suspect was wearing a white T-shirt at the time of the shooting.

The violent scene left other riders shaken as officers swarmed the area and taped off the bus as a crime scene.

A bloodstain was still visible on the sidewalk after the shooting, while yellow police tape surrounded the area as investigators worked to piece together what happened.

Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name.
