The 19-year-old daughter of a Wyoming police chief is facing serious criminal charges after allegedly poisoning her roommate’s dog.

Allie Erspamer has been charged with felony animal cruelty resulting in the death or euthanasia of an animal, according to a court affidavit filed in Sweetwater County on September 29, 2025.

The case stems from reports made by the dog’s owner, Hallie Blake, who said her pit bull, Lilly, had to be euthanized after showing signs of poisoning. Blake told authorities she adopted Lilly in December 2024 and that Erspamer, the daughter of Rock Springs Police Chief Bill Erspamer, moved in with her in late January 2025.

According to the affidavit, Erspamer allegedly expressed dislike for Lilly soon after moving in. By March, Lilly began having seizures, prompting Blake to take the dog to a veterinarian. The vet determined the dog was suffering from acute kidney failure and recommended euthanasia.

A necropsy later revealed that Lilly’s death was caused by antifreeze poisoning, the affidavit says. Investigators allege that Erspamer had discussed the alleged poisoning with a friend on Snapchat and even used the app’s AI search engine to ask questions such as “Can an autopsy on a dog show antifreeze poisoning?” and “How long would it take for bleach to kill a dog?”

Erspamer was released from jail on a signature bond. If convicted, she could face up to two years in prison and a fine of $5,000. She is scheduled to appear in court on November 26.

Authorities have not released additional comments, and her attorney did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
