Montoya Perry (Chicago Police Department)

A Chicago woman is facing murder charges after police say she carjacked an Uber driver outside a hospital — then ran him over as she sped away.

Montoya Perry, 33, was arrested early Monday after the deadly incident outside Loretto Hospital on February 23, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Authorities say Perry and two others allegedly stole the victim’s vehicle while he was making a delivery. As she fled the scene, prosecutors say the driver, 28-year-old Daniel Figueroa, tried to stop them by grabbing onto the door handle.

That decision cost him his life.

Prosecutors allege Figueroa was dragged as Perry drove off, eventually falling to the ground and being run over by one of the vehicle’s tires. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Figueroa’s family says he was working late that night delivering for Uber Eats to earn extra money after finishing his shift at an Amazon warehouse. He leaves behind his partner, Sandra Guerrero, and their young son.

In a heartbreaking message on a GoFundMe page set up for the family, Guerrero wrote that each day now brings overwhelming challenges as she tries to move forward and care for their child alone.

Meanwhile, Perry was taken into custody just hours after the crash. Police say they tracked the stolen vehicle using license plate readers and arrested her at her home shortly after noon.

She has been charged with murder and vehicular carjacking and was ordered held without bail during a court appearance on February 25. She has not yet entered a plea.

The case has sparked outrage online, especially after reports surfaced that a since-deleted Facebook post from an account identified as Perry allegedly read: “The s*** we had to do to get home is crazy, but we made it && if u missing a car, u can come get it!! We don’t want it!!”

Prosecutors also revealed that Perry had been arrested just two weeks earlier on charges including driving with a suspended license, fleeing police, and obstruction after allegedly identifying herself as her sister.
