Brenda Meza (Greeley Police Department)

A disturbing case out of Colorado is now turning into a full-blown manhunt.

Police are searching for a school employee accused of sexually abusing a student for months — and she’s now vanished before officers could take her into custody.

Authorities in Greeley say 34-year-old Brenda Meza, who worked as a secretary at Franklin Middle School, is wanted on multiple felony charges tied to the alleged ongoing abuse of a 13-year-old boy.

The investigation began back in February after police received a report involving a staff member and a student. As detectives dug deeper, they say they uncovered evidence that the alleged abuse happened repeatedly over several months.

But when it came time to make an arrest, Meza was gone.

Police say she has been on the run since March 12 and may have already left the state, raising urgent concerns as investigators try to track her down.

School officials confirmed Meza is no longer employed and had been placed on leave the same day the allegations first surfaced. She had reportedly worked in multiple roles within the district since 2020, including as a substitute teacher and cross-country coach.

Parents were notified by the school, as the community grapples with the shocking accusations.

Now, authorities are asking the public for help in locating Meza as the search continues.

Anyone with information is urged to contact law enforcement immediately, as the case shifts from investigation to a nationwide hunt for a fugitive accused of abusing a child.

  1. I taught middle school. This is the most disgraceful, disgusting thing I have ever seen! Those kids in middle school are babies! It sickens me to think that someone would even think this perverted way. So many school employees are sexually abusing children! They’re insane!
