A disturbing discovery in England has led to murder charges against three people after a man’s body was found stuffed inside a trash bin.

The grim scene unfolded in Coventry on March 13, when a member of the public made the shocking find around 5 p.m. inside a city council garbage container.

Police quickly launched a major investigation, with detectives, forensic teams, and specialists working nonstop to piece together what happened.

Authorities now believe the victim—identified as 37-year-old Thomas Niven, known as Tom—may have first been struck by a vehicle before his body was moved and dumped in a park.

“We have a large team working around the clock to establish what has happened, who he is, and who is responsible,” said Detective Chief Inspector Phil Poole.

Just days later, the case took a major turn.

Three suspects—Tammy Sturdy, 45, Camron Sturdy, 21, and Shane Turkington, 37—all from Coventry, have now been charged with murder. They remain in custody and are set to appear in court.

Police say tips from the public played a key role in moving the investigation forward, and officers continue to support Niven’s grieving family.

In an emotional statement, loved ones described Tom as a kind-hearted man who brought joy to everyone around him.

“He was loving and caring… a big softy when it came to animals and his nephews and nieces,” the family shared. “He had a charm that could lift anyone’s spirit.”

They also remembered his playful personality, saying he loved harmless pranks but could never keep a straight face before breaking into laughter.

“His life has been cut short in the most cruel way,” they said. “He will be forever missed.”

As the case moves through the courts, investigators are still working to uncover exactly how the events unfolded in what has become a deeply unsettling case.
