A routine spa visit in Texas turned tragic after a woman was found unresponsive and later died in a shocking incident now under investigation.
Police in El Paso were called to Foliage Hair Salon and Day Spa around 5 p.m. on March 20 after staff discovered a 54-year-old woman unconscious during a private session.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene and transported her to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Authorities are now investigating the case as a possible drowning.
The spa’s owner said the woman appeared to suffer a medical emergency while receiving services. According to a statement, staff performed a routine check during her private appointment and found her unresponsive, prompting an immediate call to 911.
Officials say the Crimes Against Persons unit is handling the case as they work to determine exactly what happened.
The spa says it is fully cooperating with investigators and expressed condolences to the woman’s family.
An autopsy is expected to determine the exact cause of death.
