Jaydon Bowyer and Ta-Shay Canoville

Two teenage friends were killed in a horrifying late-night crash in Wales after a BMW allegedly slammed into their motorbike and fled the scene, according to police.

The deadly collision happened during the early morning hours of Thursday, May 7, near Aberthaw Road in Newport, Wales.

Authorities say the two teens were riding together on a motorbike — one driving and the other riding as a passenger — when a BMW reportedly crashed into them.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but both teenagers were pronounced dead by paramedics.

Police initially identified the victims only as “males,” but multiple outlets later named them as 19-year-old Jaydon Bowyer and 16-year-old Ta-Shay Canoville.

Investigators believe the BMW driver fled before officers arrived, turning the devastating crash into an apparent hit-and-run.

Gwent Police later confirmed that three people had been arrested in connection to the case.

An 18-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman were both arrested on suspicion of murder, while a 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

“All three remain in police custody,” police said.

Authorities are now desperately searching for witnesses and any possible surveillance footage that could help investigators piece together exactly what happened.

Police said the crash occurred sometime between midnight and 1:40 a.m. local time.

“Officers investigating the circumstances leading up to the collision would like to speak to anyone who was travelling along or residents who reside in Aberthaw Road and the surrounding areas to check their CCTV,” Gwent Police said in a statement.

Investigators are also asking anyone with dashcam footage or information about the crash to come forward.

“Anyone with information — including CCTV and dashcam footage — is asked to contact us quoting log reference 2600141467,” the department added.

The tragic deaths have left both families devastated.

Jaydon’s mother, Sophie Louise Pederson, shared an emotional tribute to her son on Facebook shortly after learning he had died.

“Whyyy just whyyy,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself and her son. “How do I live without you here by my side.”

“You were the best boy ever everyone adored you,” the grieving mother continued. “I’m struggling to process the loss of you, my firstborn, my whole world, my absolute everything.”

“Love you millions always & forever your broken hearted mum. Shine bright my beautiful boy.”

A GoFundMe page has since been launched to help support the families of both teens. The fundraiser described their deaths as a “heartbreaking loss.”

Police say specially trained officers are now supporting the victims’ families as the investigation continues.
