A New Jersey teenager is behind bars after authorities say he brutally killed his own grandmother inside their home, then called 911 to report that someone had been murdered.

Louis Brown, 18, has been charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon in the death of 69-year-old Darlene Brown, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

The shocking case unfolded Monday morning at a multi-unit residential building on Justin Way in Jackson Township, New Jersey, about 20 miles southwest of Asbury Park.

Police said officers responded around 7 a.m. after receiving a 911 call about a murder.

When they arrived, Louis Brown was allegedly waiting near the front doorway. Authorities said he walked out of the building with his hands up and surrendered.

Inside the home, officers discovered a horrifying scene.

Investigators found Darlene Brown dead in an upstairs bedroom with two knives still protruding from her body, according to prosecutors.

The Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office later determined she had suffered at least eight stab wounds to her head and neck.

Authorities said Louis Brown was not only the person who called 911, but also the person responsible for his grandmother’s death.

More disturbing details were revealed during a detention hearing Friday, according to Jersey Shore Online.

Investigators said they found red stains on the carpet, blood in a bathroom sink, and what appeared to be blood spatter on interior walls.

Crime scene investigators collected several items from the home, including knives, clothing, bedding, and towels.

Police later clarified that one of the knives found in Darlene Brown was in her face, while another was in her neck when officers arrived.

Investigators also revealed troubling details about the days before the killing.

School officials reportedly told investigators that Louis Brown had recently made threatening remarks about wanting to kill people while making a hand motion as if he were holding a gun.

A neighbor also reported hearing “blasting loud music” coming from the residence around 1 a.m. the night before police arrived, which she said was unusual for the area.

Authorities have also focused on the 911 call itself.

Police said the caller initially told dispatchers he was calling “for a murder,” then changed his wording and said “somebody was murdered.”

Detectives also claim Louis Brown acknowledged that the victim was dead and answered “yea” when asked if he was responsible.

At one point during the call, he allegedly told dispatchers he had been drinking and said the only weapons inside the home were knives.

During the search, investigators said they found 11 additional knives in Louis Brown’s bedroom. They also found another knife in Darlene Brown’s bedroom between the nightstand and bed.

Investigators said Louis Brown had lived with his grandmother for most of his life and apparently did not have close relationships with many other family members.

Law enforcement also spoke with a woman identified as Darlene Brown’s daughter. She reportedly told investigators that she had spoken with the teenager in the days before the killing and said he seemed withdrawn and “did not seem to be himself.”

Louis Brown is being held in the Ocean County Jail without bail.

  1. Another ngr that can’t function in a civilized society. I love how all the liberals always cry that there seems to be a disproportionate number of them in prison and it must me because they are not being treated fairly and somehow are accused of crimes they didn’t commit. Here is proof that they are just more violent and thus there is more of them in prison.
