Six men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a violent knife fight in London left a 22-year-old man dead and four others injured.

The deadly confrontation unfolded at around 4:20 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Tremadoc Road and Clapham High Street in Clapham, a neighborhood in southwest London.

According to the Metropolitan Police, the victim suffered a stab wound and was rushed to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police were alerted at approximately 4:37 a.m. and quickly sealed off the area as officers began searching for evidence and working to determine what sparked the violence.

The victim has not yet been publicly identified. Authorities said his family has been notified and is receiving support from specially trained officers.

Four of the men arrested — three who are 22 and one who is 24 — later arrived at a hospital with stab wounds believed to have been suffered during the same incident.

Police said their injuries are not considered life-threatening or life-changing. All four remain hospitalized while under arrest.

Two additional suspects, ages 23 and 27, were also taken into custody at the hospital in connection with the killing.

All six men remain in police custody as detectives continue piecing together the events that led to the deadly fight.

Photos from the area showed police tape blocking off sections of Tremadoc Road and nearby streets while officers and forensic teams remained at the scene throughout Saturday.

Authorities warned residents to expect an increased police presence as the investigation continues.

“Our enquiries are progressing quickly, and we understand that the victim was stabbed at around 4:20 a.m. close to Tremadoc Road in Clapham,” police said.

“Officers have arrested six men on suspicion of murder, and we are working quickly to establish what has happened.”

Superintendent Mark Gallacher described the killing as a “tragic incident” and acknowledged that it would likely cause concern in the surrounding neighborhood.

“We understand that this will cause concern among the local community, and specialist detectives are doing everything possible to determine what has happened,” Gallacher said.

“We are asking anyone with any information or anyone who may have witnessed anything in the early hours to contact us and support the ongoing investigation.”

Police are continuing to review evidence from the area and are urging witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward.
