A Pennsylvania mother accused of stabbing her husband and their 3-year-old son to death during a family getaway at a popular indoor water park resort made a disturbing 911 call asking police to help her die, according to newly released court documents.

Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, of Towanda, is facing two counts of criminal homicide after her husband, Charles Harrison, and their young son were found dead inside their guest room at Great Wolf Lodge in the Pocono Mountains on Monday, October 12.

The family’s extended vacation took a horrifying turn around 3:15 p.m., when Harrison allegedly called 911 and told a dispatcher she no longer wanted to live.

According to a probable cause affidavit, she said she needed “help dying” before revealing that her husband and son were already dead.

“They’re already gone, I’m sorry,” Harrison allegedly told the dispatcher.

When Pocono Township police arrived at the resort in Scotrun, they found Harrison suffering from injuries to her wrist and neck.

Inside the family’s room, officers discovered Charles and the little boy lying on separate mattresses on the floor. Both had suffered fatal stab wounds.

Investigators recovered two knives with teal-green handles that resort employees said did not belong to the property. Officers also discovered several medication bottles and two containers holding what appeared to be blood.

Harrison was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for treatment.

During the ambulance ride, she allegedly made several emotional statements about what had happened.

“I f—ed up. I f—ed up,” she reportedly told first responders.

She also allegedly spoke about her efforts to be a good wife and mother, saying she had always imagined having a happy family.

“It wasn’t supposed to end like this,” she reportedly said.

At the hospital, Harrison declined to answer investigators’ questions.

New details about the family’s movements before the deaths have also emerged from surveillance footage reviewed by police.

Investigators say the Harrisons checked into Great Wolf Lodge on September 21 and later extended their reservation, with plans to leave on October 13.

On Sunday evening, October 11, cameras captured the family returning to their guest room shortly before 7 p.m.

Later that night, Harrison was seen briefly leaving the room to use a microwave.

Around 10:45 p.m., she and Charles reportedly went to the resort’s arcade together before returning approximately 40 minutes later.

Neither adult was seen leaving the room again in the surveillance footage described by investigators.

The following afternoon, police received Harrison’s emergency call.

Relatives have since revealed additional troubling details about the family’s extended vacation.

According to reports, Harrison’s stepmother, April Thetga, said the couple had used money from Charles’ retirement account to help finance their trip, an unusual financial decision that relatives questioned after the killings.

Family members also described having contact with the couple shortly before the tragedy, with little indication that anything was wrong.

Investigators have not publicly established a motive, and authorities have not said exactly when the fatal attacks occurred.

At an October 13 news conference, Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso described the deaths as a “violent domestic tragedy” and reassured the public that investigators believed it was an isolated incident.

Great Wolf Lodge also expressed its condolences and confirmed that employees were cooperating with law enforcement.

The heartbreaking deaths have devastated Charles’ relatives, who have established a fundraiser to help cover funeral expenses.

In the fundraiser, family members remembered Charles, known to loved ones as Chaz, as a devoted husband and father whose life revolved around his wife and child.

“Chaz was a good guy whose whole life was centered around his wife and child,” the family wrote.

Relatives said they were struggling to process the unexpected loss of both Charles and the little boy.

Harrison was arraigned October 13 and ordered held without bail at the Monroe County Correctional Facility.

Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 21, when prosecutors are expected to present evidence supporting the homicide charges.

Authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths, including Harrison’s alleged statements, evidence recovered from the room, and the family’s activities before the tragedy.
