A school bus driver in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana was released on bond and faces simple battery charges after slapping and choking a middle school student on the bus on Oct. 30.
A video clip shows Miles Jenkins, a school bus driver working for private bus company First Student, pushing a student after the child tried to get out of his seat before slapping the boy across the face.
The boy fights back and pushes Jenkins, who then smashes the boy into the bus window and appears to choke him as a child off screen yells, “Get off of him.”
Jenkins was arrested with a $500 bond, but he was released without paying due to the jail being overcrowded. He has since resigned from First Student as authorities continue to investigate him.

its a hard job i would not like to do it puts some of the mothers on
Parents never want to admit when they have a kid that doesn’t behave, they always want to defend them. I have friends that are bus drivers and have heard stories that are unbelievable. Fighting, swearing, threatening other kids or throwing things. This driver probably didn’t handle it well although we don’t have any audio or the video leading up to this. Parents need to start making their kids behave and not use it’s some other kids fault my kid can’t behave. I think these kids should only get one chance, then let mom and dad worry about dropping them off and picking them up.
Bus drivers have a lot to contend with out of kids today and the last thing they need are obnoxious kids acting up when they are driving. Between the kids, some parents, teachers, and whacko drivers obln the road. They are all out of control! They should all have their butts paddled for acting up! This country is out of control
So what was this bus driver supposed to do?
