A 14-year-old high school student in North Carolina has been charged with murder after stabbing another student to death.

On Monday, a fight broke out between students at Southeast Raleigh High School and resulted in at least two teens being stabbed. A 16-year-old was hospitalized but is stable, while a 15-year-old died as a result of the stabbing.

Video of the fight has circulated online, showing the suspect using a knife during the fight. Students can be seen encouraging the brawl that took place in the gymnasium.A 14-year-old has been charged with murder for fatally stabbing a student during a fightYouTube: WRAL News

Police obtained a secure custody order for the 14-year-old suspect and he was charged with murder on a juvenile petition.

Classes at Southeast Raleigh High were canceled on Tuesday in the wake of the fatal brawl.

“I want to share my condolences. As a parent, I can’t imagine getting that call. I just cannot imagine that,” Wake County Superintendent Robert Taylor said at a news conference.

Cherelle McLaughlin told WRAL News that her son was involved in the fight and explained that she did not “believe he took the knife into school.”

“I believe he got the knife from somebody in the school because he did not go to school with a knife,” McLaughlin said. “I dropped him off at school, he did not go to school with it.”

  1. Where were all the adults in all this chaos? Why would all these kids be in the gym without any supervision? And what kind of parent raises a kid that would film this or cheer it on? There are a lot of parents here who should be ashamed. God our public schools are just pathetic pull your kids out.

  2. Parents are so naive when their “angel” child gets busted or hurt doing something horrible. Did she pat him down before school? Did she look through his backpack? “It wasn’t MY kid that had a knife. Must be some other dumb parent’s kid. Mine doesn’t get into trouble. It’s not his fault.” Even if he didn’t bring the knife, he stuck it into two other kids. You can see him on the other side of the glass. Nice parent job, even though it’s not always parents, but mostly.

    1. The “jury” is still out on why this happened.
I found more on this, and it seems this kid could have been defending himself against multiple attackers.
Maybe if the kid in Vegas had a weapon he wouldn’t have been stomped to death by another unruly mob of thugs. What ever happened to man to man?
And just where were the teachers/adults in these attacks.
