Police in Florida reportedly apprehended a bank robbery suspect just minutes after the alleged theft took place, but that may be because he had to use a cane while trying to get away.
A spokesperson with the Pensacola Police Department said 75-year-old Randall L. Digsby walked into a Synovus Bank on Friday, allegedly with both a knife and a walking cane, demanding money, the Pensacola News Journal reports. He then fled on foot — using the cane.
Digsby allegedly robbed the bank at 9:47 a.m. and was apprehended just two minutes later, according to the Pensacola police spokesperson. No one was injured, and the stolen cash was returned.
Digsby has been charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault, according to Escambia County jail records. He is currently in jail on two bonds totaling $130,000. He is due in court on Friday.
