A Wisconsin teenager is facing a felony charge after authorities say he brutally beat an 81-year-old man during a road rage confrontation that left the elderly victim badly injured.
Oliver Maarten McSorley has been charged with felony battery to an elderly person following the violent encounter, which prosecutors say occurred in October 2025 in the Milwaukee-area suburb of Pewaukee.
According to a criminal complaint cited by local outlet WISN, the incident began when McSorley allegedly tailgated the 81-year-old victim. The older man told investigators he slowed down in response, escalating tensions on the road.
Prosecutors say McSorley eventually passed the victim and cut him off. The elderly man then caught up to McSorley at a stoplight and slowly crept forward until his vehicle made contact with McSorley’s bumper.
Both drivers pulled over, and a heated argument followed. The victim admitted he pushed McSorley during the confrontation — a move prosecutors say triggered a violent outburst.
According to the complaint, McSorley began repeatedly punching the elderly man in the head and body, continuing even after the victim fell into a fetal position on the ground. Bystanders eventually stepped in to stop the attack.
A 911 caller told dispatchers the teen was “aggressively punching” the older man and appeared to be trying to “punch him into the ground,” adding they feared the victim could be mortally injured.
McSorley reportedly fled the scene but later turned himself in to authorities.
While in jail, prosecutors say McSorley made chilling remarks during a recorded phone call to a relative. According to the complaint, he said, “I wish I would’ve beaten him to a pulp,” adding that the victim was “lucky” to have survived with only a concussion.
The 81-year-old victim told police he suffered multiple scrapes and bruises, a possible concussion, blurred vision, and bleeding from both ears and one eye as a result of the beating.
If convicted, McSorley faces up to six years in prison.
