A quiet Florida neighborhood was shaken early Saturday morning after a doctor and a woman were found dead in what police say appears to be a murder-suicide.

Officers were dispatched to a home in the 4800 block of Acardian Trail in Coconut Creek around 4 a.m. on January 3 following reports of a disturbance. When police arrived, they discovered the bodies of a man and a woman inside the residence.

Authorities identified the man as 34-year-old Jean Dominique Foureau. The woman’s name has not been released. Police said the two were previously in a relationship and shared a child together.

Investigators believe Foureau fatally shot the woman before taking his own life. The case is being treated as an apparent murder-suicide, though police say the investigation remains ongoing.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Foureau worked as a chief resident in the emergency department at Broward Health Medical Center and also served as a Battalion Surgeon with the Florida Army National Guard.

Broward Health confirmed that while Foureau completed part of his medical training within its health system, that affiliation ended in 2024 and he was no longer connected to the organization at the time of his death.

Police have not released further details about what led up to the deadly incident, and no additional information about the child shared by the couple has been disclosed.
