A Queens, NY teenager ran for his life after an argument spiraled out of control—but his attempt to escape ended in tragedy on a Woodhaven sidewalk, authorities said.

Seventeen-year-old Josue Argudo was involved in a dispute with two other teens around 3:45 p.m. Friday near the corner of Jamaica Avenue and 76th Street, according to police. When the argument escalated, Argudo tried to flee.

He didn’t get far.

Investigators say the two suspects caught up to him, with one teen punching him while the other stabbed him in the neck. The attack unfolded in broad daylight, shocking neighbors in the usually busy Queens neighborhood.

Emergency responders rushed Argudo to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition, but doctors were unable to save him. He was later pronounced dead. As of now, no arrests have been made.

A nearby resident, Patricia Ammirati, said she was in her kitchen when she heard teens arguing outside. With her back door open, she looked out just in time to see the horrifying aftermath.

“I see the boy in the light gray sweatshirt sitting down,” she said. “And then he slumped over. It was so fast.”

Neighbors attempted CPR, but it was already too late.

Surveillance footage reviewed by investigators appears to show Argudo walking alongside another teen moments before the attack. In the video, one suspect suddenly jabs him in the neck.

“I thought he was punching him,” Ammirati said. “But the guy in black must have had the knife wrapped around his hand.”

After the stabbing, the teen sat down on the sidewalk before collapsing.

“What a sin,” she said quietly.

Police have released surveillance images of two suspects believed to be involved. One is described as wearing black clothing with white headphones, while another was seen in a black jacket, blue jeans, white sneakers, and carrying a black cross-body bag.

What stunned neighbors most was what happened next.

“They just walked away like nothing happened,” Ammirati said. “Like nothing. They don’t care. They have no regard.”

She said the moment has haunted her, leaving her wishing she had been outside just minutes earlier.

“If I were outside 10 minutes more, maybe I could have stopped it,” she said. “I’d say, ‘This ain’t happening on my corner.’ I wish I could have saved the boy’s life.”

Police say the investigation is ongoing and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
