What started as a simple luggage dispute at the airport quickly turned into a full-blown scene that delayed an entire flight — and ended with three women in handcuffs.
The drama unfolded Sunday night, March 29, at Miami International Airport, when three women — Nafisa Dockery, 30, Davana Cochran, 26, and Dionjana Cochran, 21 — were trying to board a Frontier Airlines flight to Philadelphia.
According to police reports, things went sideways when a Frontier employee told them they had only paid for one carry-on bag but were attempting to bring two. They were asked to step out of line and pay the extra fee.
That is when tensions exploded.
Authorities say a verbal argument broke out, with the employee warning the group that they could be removed from the flight if they refused to comply. Instead of backing down, one of the women allegedly told the others to ignore the instructions and keep moving.
Moments later, the trio reportedly pushed past staff and rushed onto the plane through a restricted access door clearly marked for authorized personnel only.
At that point, police were called.
When deputies arrived at the gate, a Frontier manager explained the situation and requested the women be removed from the aircraft. But even then, the confrontation did not end.
According to reports, the women refused to leave despite multiple warnings from law enforcement. The situation escalated so much that all passengers on the plane were forced to deboard while deputies handled the situation.
A brief struggle followed as officers attempted to place the women in handcuffs. Police said the trio resisted by tensing their bodies and pulling their arms away.
The chaos did not stop there.
Authorities allege that Dockery spat on someone during the incident, believed to be a Frontier employee. Meanwhile, video from the scene quickly spread online, showing the women being escorted off the plane as other passengers recorded the moment.
In the clip, one of the women can be heard shouting threats while bystanders reacted, adding even more tension to the already heated scene.
Because of the disruption, the flight was delayed for more than an hour.
All three women were taken into custody and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. They are now facing charges including trespassing and resisting an officer without violence. Dockery is also facing an additional battery charge.
