Ava Woodcock

A heartbreaking shooting in Kentucky has left a young mother and her unborn child dead, sending shockwaves through the local community.

Authorities say 22-year-old Ava Woodcock and her unborn baby died days after being shot in Glasgow on April 4.

According to police, the incident unfolded in the parking lot of Annie’s Restaurant on Cleveland Avenue. Investigators say Woodcock had just pulled into the lot and honked her horn when the suspect allegedly approached her vehicle.

That’s when the situation turned deadly.

Police say 24-year-old Brandon Lee Bond crossed the street, walked up to the car, and opened fire. After the shooting, Woodcock’s vehicle continued moving before crashing.

She was rushed to the hospital along with her unborn child, but both were later pronounced dead on April 7.

Authorities are still working to piece together what led up to the shooting, and details remain unclear, including whether Woodcock was inside or outside the vehicle at the time she was shot.

After the attack, the suspect fled the scene but was later found in a wooded area and taken into custody. Police say he was uncooperative during the arrest and had reportedly been drinking earlier in the day.

He is now facing multiple serious charges, including murder involving domestic violence, first-degree fetal homicide, and fleeing from police.

The loss has been devastating for Woodcock’s family.

A fundraiser set up in her honor describes the tragedy as “unimaginable,” noting that she leaves behind a 1-year-old daughter.
