Woman Kills Boyfriend Because He Wanted to Air Fry Dinner Instead of Going Out to Eat

A heated argument over dinner plans turned deadly in Wisconsin—and now a woman is facing a possible life sentence.

Police say Mikayla Kloth, 27, has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Lukas Rosch, 25, inside their apartment in Lac La Belle.

According to investigators, the violence unfolded Friday evening after a disagreement about what to do for dinner.

Authorities say Kloth called 911 just before 7 p.m., and when officers arrived, they found Rosch lying on his back, bleeding on the floor.

Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

Police allege Kloth later admitted to stabbing him during an argument, saying she was upset because he didn’t want to go out to eat. Instead, he reportedly wanted to stay home and cook chicken in an air fryer.

“The defendant stated [the victim] began pushing her buttons; she was upset and an argument ensued,” police wrote in the criminal complaint.

Investigators say Kloth made additional statements while being transported to the station, reportedly saying she should have just gone out to a bar instead and that the situation was “irritating.”

According to the complaint, she also acknowledged how the victim’s family might view her after what happened.

“While transporting her, the defendant stated that if [the victim’s] parents didn’t hate her before, they will hate her now,” police wrote.

There were also troubling signs leading up to the incident.

Officers spoke with the couple’s landlord, who claimed Rosch had previously said his girlfriend bit him about a week before the stabbing. He allegedly told the landlord, “Please take my full name, in case something ever happens to me.”

Kloth appeared in court on Monday, where a judge ordered her held on a $2 million bond.

She is scheduled to return to court for a preliminary hearing on May 29. If convicted, she could face life in prison.
