A shocking moment unfolded inside a Texas courtroom after a convicted killer lashed out just seconds after hearing his sentence.
According to court records, 27-year-old Jaquarius Lewis had just been handed the maximum 50-year prison sentence for murder when things took a sudden and violent turn. The incident happened on March 28 in a Harris County courtroom.
His own defense attorney, John Petruzzi, says he never saw it coming.
After the sentence was announced, Lewis allegedly punched his lawyer in the face — a blow so forceful that Petruzzi says he didn’t even fully realize what had happened in the moment.
“At that point, apparently, I was out,” Petruzzi told local media. “My client hit me in the face. People in the courtroom said I fell back in the chair, hit a counter and apparently fell to the ground.”
Despite the chaos, the attorney was not seriously injured.
Authorities say Lewis is now facing an additional charge for injuring a person over the age of 65. It’s still unclear whether this latest outburst will add even more time to his sentence.
Lewis had just pleaded guilty to the 2024 murder of 40-year-old Quincy Johnson in Houston. Police say Johnson was standing on his balcony when he was fatally shot, with Lewis identified as one of the suspects involved.

Any moron with a name like Jaquarius is automatically going to become a criminal. Parents should stop giving stupid names to their kids as that seems to be a direct correlation between a kid growing up to be a criminal or not🤣
