A teenage boy who was charged in the stabbing death of a 9-year-old girl in England has been acquitted.
The 16-year-old boy, whose name has not been released because of his age, had been accused in the death of Aria Thorpe at her home in Weston-super-Mare.
On Thursday, June 25, a jury at Bristol Crown Court found the teen not guilty of murder and manslaughter, according to the BBC.
Aria died on Dec. 15 after suffering a single stab wound to her chest, The Guardian reported. She had celebrated her 9th birthday just two weeks earlier with a KPop Demon Hunters-themed party, according to The Times.
During the trial, the teen testified that Aria was sitting in the lounge when he entered the room holding a knife.
“Aria stood up and I was waving around the knife,” he said, according to The Guardian. “Then at some point I decided that I was going to try to make her flinch and scare her, to get a reaction. I leaned forward, acted like I was fencing.”
“The knife went into her,” he continued. “Then I pulled it out. I didn’t know what to do. She put her hand to her chest.”
The BBC reported that the teen had been expelled from school earlier that day and had his phone taken away by his mother. He told the jury he fled the scene because he panicked.
“I was thinking that I’ve got to get away,” he testified.
“I didn’t know what to do, I didn’t know what was going to happen,” he said, according to the BBC. “I was scared, really anxious, I don’t know how to explain it.”
Police said emergency services were called to a home on Lime Close shortly before 6:10 p.m. local time. The first officer arrived about three minutes after the call, but Aria was pronounced dead at the scene, according to The Times.
After her death, friends and neighbors remembered Aria as a “lovely little girl” who loved doing her hair, fashion and makeup.
She also had a YouTube channel with a friend and had started earning money by cleaning cars.
Sympathy for this little girl, but no sympathy for the people of the U.K. who have voted for the Islamic takeover of their country…..just like stupid Americans are doing now.
This “teenage” murderer is lying…. Look at what happened to him leading up to the murder. Put it all together and this was a homicide!!!!
Acquitted? The only reason I come up with is that the ‘teen’ is an islamic muslim. If he was found guilty the jury and judge would be labeled islamophobic racist and we can’t have that, no sir. Not in compassionate England.
