Manhattan’s Sutton Place neighborhood was shut down by police on Sunday after a woman was discovered dead inside a Jeep containing toxic chemicals.

The 35-year-old woman was found in the backseat of a black Jeep parked at East 56th Street and Sutton Avenue at 11:23 a.m.

The city’s medical examiner’s office removed her body from the vehicle and will determine the cause and manner of death. Police said they are investigation is ongoing and will be providing more information.

The woman’s identity was not immediately revealed.

“An assortment of liquid chemicals” were found inside the car, a source told 1010 WINS, adding that no other injuries were reported due to the exposure. It was unclear which chemicals they were.

Citizen App video showed a heavy emergency response at the scene, with crews in hazmat suits combing over the Jeep as the area was closed off to the public.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
