A podiatrist in Oregon has been indicted after he allegedly fondled two of his female patients, and police now warn that there could be more victims.
Dr. Brian Bowen, 49, abused two women during their exam at Eastside Foot & Ankle in Portland, the Portland Police Bureau said in a news release.
One incident occurred in May 2022, another in June and another in January.
Based on the criminal docket reviewed of Bowen’s charges, it appears two women were allegedly victimized, and at least one of them may have been abused more than once.
After a yearlong investigation, a grand jury returned an indictment against Bowen on Dec. 6, according to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s office, on four charges, including felony sex abuse in the second degree and three misdemeanor counts of sex abuse in the third degree. Bowen was arraigned last week. His next court appearance is set for February 2024. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Records available online from the Oregon Medical Board indicate that Bowen’s license is considered active as of Tuesday but a representative for the board responded to an inquiry about the status.
The spokesperson provided a copy of an interim stipulated order that states Bowen “shall not conduct any examination or medical procedure on any patient without a medically trained chaperone being present throughout the course of the examination or procedure.”
The order highlights that Bowen nor the board concede any wrongdoing on his part at this time. If Bowen is found in violation of the interim order, it would be grounds for “disciplinary action.”
Once the board is done with its investigation into the doctor, they will determine whether he should be permitted to practice podiatry again. Bowen has the right to appeal any decision.
A phone call to East Side Ankle was also not immediately returned Tuesday.
A criminal investigation is ongoing, and the Portland Police Bureau is asking anyone who may have been victimized to come forward and report the incident to PPB Detective Sean Harris at 503-823-0838 and reference case number 22-236740.

There is always a HE said She said….even in a car accident – “he made an illegal turn” – “no, you crashed into me”. If NO ONE witnessed the accident….no pictures, no cameras….zip. One still gets to sue…and the courts decide. Are you suggesting that a woman has lets rights to sue than any other citizen?? I can personally swear to the legitimacy of being abused AND not reporting….relive that humiliating trauma to mostly men officers???? NEVER!!!!
…..how do you go from some form of foot or ankle examination…to sexual abuse? If I am a woman going in to find out why my ankle hurts, and suddenly the male doctor is looking at, touching, or fondling my vagina, buttocks or breasts…I think I would know that the “examination” has gone off the rails? Why doesn’t this article tell us what the man is accused of …and how it happened? I have no love of, or faith in members of The Medical Industrial Complex. But…there are Doctors who still act like Doctors….though not too many. But I need to know exactly what the Doc is accused of, and how it happened, before I’m willing to sell the guy down the river.
Reading those various reports of Dr.’s et al abusing women, is so reminiscent of situations I had to endure earlier on….before I resolved to only go to female Dr’s, to allow only female nurses to tend to me in the hospital, only technicians for x-rays – etc., etc..

As a woman I can say there are women who lie. So this isn’t the 1800’s to say they aren’t believed is bs. These women get to remain anonymous while the men’s name is published everywhere. It isn’t right for men to lose their jobs before they’re even convicted and how do you defend yourself when you have no idea who your accuser is?? The Me Too movement is a joke, what about Tara Reade nobody was there from Me Too for her. They pick and choose who fits into their political agenda. Women who are raped and don’t speak up WHEN IT HAPPENS allow others to fall victim to the same. So spare me your pathetic lecture.
If he did this it’s disgusting but I don’ understand it said one woman more than once. If this happened to you why would you go back again? I don’t understand women who either go back again or don’t report these things for years so others can be abused.
doctors in Amerika have killed up to 250 000 people each year by mistakes, accidents and other means. 100 00 of them from NOT properly washing their hands (cross contamination). this started in 1998
