Two California brothers were arrested last week in connection to a violent purse snatching in a Costco parking lot that left a woman severely injured in late November.
Andrew Morrison, 34, and David Morrison, 38, were arrested by detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau on Thursday on suspicion of robbery, KTLA reported.
The victim, who has not been named, was loading items into her car on Nov. 26 in the City of Industry when an SUV pulled up. A man got out of the vehicle and allegedly tried to grab her purse.
The woman refused to let go of the purse while the vehicle drove off. She was dragged 50 feet before she lost her grip on the bag.
She suffered a facial fracture, abrasions and a scalp laceration. Officials said she suffered serious head trauma that resulted in life-threatening injuries, the station reported.
An “extensive investigation” by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, deputies arrested the brothers for robbery while executing a search warrant in Diamond Bar.
Investigators recovered “crucial evidence” during the search, allegedly including personal property belonging to the victim.
The brothers are being held on $500,000 bail.
