A manhunt is underway in Ohio after a deadly shooting at a BP gas station left a 26-year-old man dead—and the accused gunman still on the loose.
Damario McCall, 41, is wanted in connection with the killing of Ar’mon Covington, who was gunned down around 4:15 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of a BP station on Grant Street in Akron. When officers arrived, they found Covington suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died shortly afterward.
According to Akron police, the violence began when McCall was allegedly harassing women in the lot. Covington stepped in to stop it—and that’s when things turned deadly. Police say McCall pulled a gun and shot him several times before taking off in a red SUV.
McCall, who had just been released from prison earlier this year after serving time since 2009, is now wanted for murder, illegal possession of a firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon. Authorities describe him as 5’5”, around 195 pounds, and wearing thick prescription glasses. He’s considered armed and dangerous.
“This was a horrible crime,” said Akron Police Lt. Michael Murphy. “The suspect shot our victim at close range and walked away like it was nothing.”
Ar’mon’s mother, Na’Tosha Covington, is devastated.
“He was my baby, my only son,” she told reporters. “It’s a different kind of hurt. What makes someone think they have the right to take a life like that?”
She’s pleading for justice—and for McCall to be taken off the streets before anyone else gets hurt.
“I just hope they catch this guy. I don’t want any other family to go through this pain.”
He has not learnt anything while in prison .This time no parole
