A Tennessee man accused of murdering four relatives and dumping a baby in a stranger’s yard has been captured, bringing an end to a chilling multi-day manhunt.

Authorities confirmed that Austin Robert Drummond is now in custody following the brutal slayings of 20-year-old Adrianna Williams, 21-year-old James M. Wilson, 38-year-old Cortney Rose, and 15-year-old Braydon Williams. Their bodies were discovered on July 29, sparking a statewide search for the suspect.

The case took an even darker twist when James and Adrianna’s infant — the only known survivor — was found abandoned 25 miles away in a stranger’s yard in Dyer County. Police later confirmed that the baby’s mother, father, grandmother, and uncle had all been killed.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced Drummond’s arrest on Tuesday, August 5, in Jackson, Tenn. He had been on the run since at least Friday, August 1, when authorities found his empty vehicle more than an hour from the crime scene.

Drummond now faces a long list of serious charges, including first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and using a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

Investigators have not released a possible motive, but the case has rocked the local community — especially given the disturbing detail of the abandoned baby being left behind after the alleged massacre.

More updates are expected as the investigation unfolds.
