A California man is accused of gunning down three people in a shocking triple murder after one of the victims reported to police that he strangled her just hours earlier.
Authorities say 27-year-old Joseph Vicencio murdered 26-year-old Tarrah Lynn Taylor, her 24-year-old roommate Jeannessa Lurie, and 26-year-old Max Ryan inside a San Jose home early Tuesday morning.
Police say they got multiple 911 calls just before 12:30 a.m. about gunshots and a woman screaming for help. When officers arrived, they found Taylor outside with gunshot wounds — she later died at the hospital. Inside the home, Lurie was discovered dead, and Ryan was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.
Vicencio was arrested the next day, but what police revealed about the hours leading up to the massacre has left the community horrified.
According to court documents obtained by KTVU, Taylor had called San Jose police on Monday, telling them Vicencio had strangled her and punched her in the chest the day before. Officers noted visible marks on her neck, and her roommate Lurie backed up her claims. Yet Vicencio was not arrested — and returned to the house hours later, allegedly carrying out the killings.
Surveillance footage reportedly shows him fleeing with a “unique satchel” later found in a sewer containing the alleged murder weapon. Investigators say a witness told them Vicencio admitted he “might be in trouble” for assaulting Taylor and chillingly added that he “couldn’t have loose ends and people talking about him.”
Vicencio, who has a long criminal history including a 2019 shooting at San Jose State University’s library and parking garage, is now charged with three counts of murder. He remains in jail ahead of a court appearance scheduled for October 24.

That’ll do it. What an idiot.
Please just put this guilty man away
