An Alabama man has admitted to plotting the unthinkable — trying to hire a hitman to murder his estranged wife and six adult children.

Mohammad Mohammad, 64, pleaded guilty to seven counts of murder-for-hire, federal prosecutors announced on Wednesday, September 24.

According to a federal complaint, Mohammad repeatedly asked a witness last August to help him find someone to “take care of” his family while he was going through divorce proceedings with his wife. He allegedly told the witness that his pride and dignity had been destroyed by his family.

The witness later introduced Mohammad to an undercover FBI agent posing as a hitman. At their meeting, Mohammad allegedly provided photos of his wife and children, their home address, and descriptions of their vehicles. He then offered the agent $20,000 to kill his wife and $5,000 for each of his children.

“Six kids, and the mom,” he allegedly told the agent. “You pick and choose who you gunna take out, and get paid. Start with one. Take your time.”

Court records reveal this wasn’t Mohammad’s first brush with the law involving his family. He married his wife in 2021, but within months, she and two of his children were granted protective orders against him. In 2022, he was arrested for stalking after allegedly placing GPS trackers on family members’ cars. Over the following year, multiple vehicles belonging to his wife and children were mysteriously set on fire.

At one court hearing, a witness warned Mohammad he would go to hell if he hurt his family. He allegedly replied, “No, God will reward me.”
