A Florida couple got a terrifying surprise when they allegedly discovered a man hiding underneath their hotel bed after spending the night in the room.

Ritchel Calvaire was arrested following the bizarre incident at the Provident Doral hotel in Doral, Florida, on Thursday, Sept. 10, according to a Miami-Dade County arrest affidavit.

Police said a man and woman checked into the hotel on Wednesday, Sept. 9, closed the blinds near the room’s rear sliding glass door and went to sleep.

But during the night, the woman reportedly began noticing something strange.

She told police she felt movement near the bed at around 4 a.m., but eventually fell back asleep.

Then, at about 6:30 a.m., she said she felt movement again — this time coming from underneath the bed.

The woman finally looked under the bed at around 7:45 a.m. while checking to make sure she had not misplaced any belongings.

That is when she allegedly spotted a man hiding beneath them.

The couple immediately ran out of the room and contacted hotel security.

Police arrested Calvaire later that same day.

According to the affidavit, the hotel’s security manager told investigators that Calvaire had previously stayed at the property but checked out on Aug. 31 and had been told not to return.

He allegedly came back about two days later to collect belongings and was escorted off the property.

Police claim Calvaire returned yet again before the Sept. 10 incident.

Investigators allege that he jumped over a balcony fence, entered the occupied hotel room through a rear sliding glass door and then hid underneath the couple’s bed while they slept.

Calvaire was booked on Sept. 10 and charged with felony burglary of an occupied dwelling.

He is also facing a misdemeanor charge of resisting an officer without violence, according to Miami-Dade County court records.

It was not immediately clear whether Calvaire had an attorney representing him.

A court hearing date had not yet been scheduled.
