A Texas boy returned home from school to a nightmare: his mother and her boyfriend had vanished, leaving their 12-year-old behind in an empty apartment.
Copperas Cove police arrested 33-year-old Keven Dwayne Adams and 31-year-old Erica Renee Sanders on Friday after the boy came home from school to find the apartment completely cleared out, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by KWKT. Confused and alone, the child went to a neighbor for help and showed them the vacant home. The neighbor then called the police.
When officers arrived, the boy explained that his mother and Adams had mentioned moving “at some point,” but he didn’t realize that meant they’d be leaving without him.
Police reached the couple by phone, and they claimed the boy’s uncle was supposed to pick him up. But when officers contacted the uncle, he said he had no idea about any plans to care for the child.
Authorities said Adams went on a long rant to officers, complaining about the boy. Child protective services also tried to get the couple’s new address, but they reportedly refused to provide it.
The neighbor who took the boy in told police that this wasn’t the first time the child had been kicked out of the house.
Adams and Sanders were both charged with abandoning or endangering a child without intent to return.
The more I read, the more I realize that there are so many sickos out there; it is disgusting. How does anyone do this to a child? These two should be locked up, and forgotten, just as their little boy was! Don’t feed them, clothed them, or show them an ounce of care. They don’t deserve anything, because of the animals they are!!!
Hope this kid never forgets this and I hope he will visit both of these losers privately, one on one, in about 15 years.
That poor child! I can’t imagine what he’s feeling right now. Him knowing he is unloved is heartbreaking.
