Three people were arrested in Alabama after deputies discovered a horrifying scene involving dozens of dogs at a rural home, authorities said.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, officers responding to a complaint on Monday morning, Jan. 12, found 29 dogs dead and stuffed inside plastic bags in the backyard of a home in the Beauregard community. Inside the house, another 24 dogs were found alive but severely emaciated.

Curtis Dewayne Haralson, 63, Patricia Ann Sims, 64, and Tiffany Ann Sims, 27, were arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail the same day. All three were living at the home on the 8100 block of Lee Road 146, where deputies were called around 10:45 a.m. after a neighbor raised concerns about the condition of the animals.

Authorities said the dogs ranged in age from young puppies to fully grown adults.

Lee County Animal Control took custody of the surviving dogs, who are now receiving care. Officials have not yet filed formal charges, but the sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing and will likely result in felony charges against all three individuals.

The case has sparked outrage in the local community as investigators continue working to determine how long the dogs had been suffering and what led to their deaths.

Officials are expected to release additional details as the investigation progresses.

  1. Ala-bammie!!
The whole family looks like “Deliverance”
    Part 2.
Scumbags need to be incarcerated for a decade with no possibility of some stupid, incompetent parole board letting them out after one week.
So that means not eligible for parole.
