Three tourists were shot and killed in a shocking and seemingly random attack at a Florida vacation rental near Walt Disney World, after they became stranded in the area due to car trouble, authorities said.

Ahmad Jihad Bojeh, 29, was arrested Saturday and charged with three counts of first-degree murder in what the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office described as a “cold-blooded” and premeditated shooting in Kissimmee.

Sheriff Christopher Blackmon said deputies were called to a rental property on Indian Point Circle in the Indian Hills subdivision around 12:14 p.m. after multiple 911 calls reported gunfire. When a deputy arrived, he discovered three men dead from gunshot wounds lying in the yard.

Two of the victims were identified as brothers Robert Lewis Kraft, 70, of Holland, Michigan, and Douglas Joseph Kraft, 68, of Columbus, Ohio. The third victim was a 68-year-old friend from Ohio whose name has not yet been released pending notification of family.

Investigators said the three men were visiting the area — popular with tourists heading to Walt Disney World — and were staying at the rental property when their vehicle broke down. The car trouble forced them to extend their stay by an extra day. One other person who had been staying with the group had already left the property the day before the shooting.

Just about an hour after the killings, deputies located Bojeh inside his home next door to the rental and arrested him without incident. He was taken into custody and later ordered held without bond at the Osceola County Jail.

“This was cold-blooded. It was premeditated. There was absolutely no conflict between these people,” Blackmon said during a press conference. “This appears to be completely random. These victims just happened to be his neighbors.”

Authorities executed a search warrant at Bojeh’s home and recovered two firearms. Investigators are working to determine whether either weapon was used in the killings.

Sheriff Blackmon described Bojeh as a troubled resident who was well known to law enforcement, calling him a “frequent flyer” at the sheriff’s office. According to court records obtained by ClickOrlando, Bojeh was arrested in 2021 after firing a gun at a person and several vehicles at a Kissimmee gas station, injuring one man. He was later acquitted by reason of insanity in that case.

“I can tell you he was a threat to that neighborhood all the time,” Blackmon said.

At this stage, investigators say they have found no connection between Bojeh and the victims and no clear motive for the attack. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.

Kissimmee is a busy tourist hub filled with short-term rentals, golf courses, and vacation homes, located roughly 30 minutes from Disney World — making the violence all the more unsettling for residents and visitors alike.

“This is every tourist’s nightmare,” Blackmon said, adding that the community remains shaken as authorities work to understand why three visitors lost their lives in what appears to have been a random act of violence.
