Two young sisters in Florida are safe after authorities say they were abducted by a man they had been communicating with online through Roblox and Snapchat — a case police described as deeply unsettling but ultimately prevented from ending in tragedy.
During a Monday press conference, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office identified Hser Mu Lah Say, 19, of Omaha, Nebraska, as the suspect. Investigators allege Lah Say drove nearly 24 hours straight to pick up the girls from Indiantown, Florida.
The sisters, ages 12 and 14, were reported missing Saturday evening, Jan. 31. Within hours, officials with the Georgia Highway Patrol located Lah Say and the two girls inside his vehicle, according to a statement shared by the sheriff’s office.
“This was a sobering case for us here at the county sheriff’s office, but we’re thankful with how it ended,” said John Budensiek.
Authorities were alerted around 8 p.m. that night that the girls had gone missing several hours earlier. Investigators later learned that earlier that same day, the sisters had gone to a local park, were found by a family member, taken home, and disciplined — including having their cell phones confiscated.
Through family members, deputies were already aware of a potential suspect who had allegedly been communicating with the girls via Snapchat since mid-2025. Although the Snapchat app had been deleted from the girls’ phones, investigators reinstalled it and allegedly discovered a constant stream of messages between Lah Say and the sisters.
“At that point, we knew we were dealing with an abduction,” Budensiek said, noting that while the girls went willingly, their ages made the situation a criminal matter.
The girls have been identified as Lunabella Lozano and Kaelani Star Lozano.
Investigators said communication between the suspect and the girls first began on Roblox in the summer of 2025 before moving to Snapchat. Family members had noticed strange signs in the months prior, including food unexpectedly showing up at their home — behavior authorities believe may indicate grooming.
According to Budensiek, Lah Say left Omaha on Friday, Jan. 30, and arrived in Indiantown around 10 a.m. Saturday. The girls had allegedly planned to meet him at the park that morning, but after being disciplined, police believe they later used a family tablet to resume communication.
Investigators allege Lah Say remained in the area, waiting for another opportunity to meet the girls. That night, with temperatures dropping and no sign of the sisters, law enforcement searched parks, hotels, and surrounding areas in what Budensiek described as “full crisis mode.”
Lah Say is now charged with two counts of kidnapping and two counts of interference with child custody. As of Monday, he remained jailed in Georgia while authorities worked on extradition paperwork to return him to Florida.
While investigators say no sexually explicit content was found in the messages, police confirmed there were romantic exchanges. Lah Say reportedly has no prior criminal history.
“We believe we prevented something disastrous from happening to these impressionable young girls,” Budensiek said, adding that the investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue reviewing digital evidence and conducting interviews with the children, who were reunited with their family after a several-hour trip to retrieve them.
