A terrifying crash involving a car full of teenagers has landed a woman behind bars after disturbing footage revealed what happened moments before impact.
Faye Dawson, 50, was sentenced to 14 months in prison after losing control of her car and crashing on Delphouse Road in Cheadle, England, on March 7, 2025.
According to police, Dawson was speeding at around 80 mph—about 20 miles over the limit—and driving on the wrong side of the road just before the crash.
Inside the car were five teenagers, all between 14 and 15 years old.
Dashcam footage released by authorities shows the horrifying moments leading up to the crash, with the teens audibly panicking and begging Dawson to slow down. Instead, she allegedly doubled down—making shocking statements that have since sparked outrage.
“I am a rally car driver,” she said, before adding, “Are you buckled in? Because if you die, I am not responsible.”
She also admitted on camera that she had been drinking and smoking, telling the teens she was “even more dangerous” behind the wheel.
Moments later, the car crashed.
Four of the teens were injured, with one suffering a spinal fracture that required hospital treatment. The victim later said she genuinely believed she was going to die and has since dealt with anxiety, nightmares, and months of back pain following the crash.
Dawson later pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court. In addition to her prison sentence, she’s been banned from driving for over four years.
Police didn’t hold back in their assessment of the case.
“Her actions were reckless and selfish,” an officer said, adding that the sentence reflects just how serious the incident was.
