A joyful wedding procession turned into a nightmare after a young groom was gunned down just moments before he was supposed to get married.

Authorities say 22-year-old Azad Bind was traveling with his wedding party on May 3 when the attack happened. He was part of a traditional procession heading to his ceremony when gunfire suddenly erupted.

According to police, the alleged shooter — identified as Pradeep Bind — is a relative of the bride who was reportedly upset about the marriage. Investigators say he arrived on a motorcycle with an accomplice and opened fire on the groom.

Azad Bind was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.

Police say the suspect fled the scene and remains on the run as search efforts continue.

Officials confirmed that a case has been filed, and multiple teams are working to track down those responsible.

The victim’s father, Ram Lakhan Bind, said the family had already faced violence from the same individuals in the past. He claimed he was previously attacked and even suffered a broken leg during an earlier incident.

At the time of the shooting, several people — including children — were traveling with the groom.

Azad Bind, a resident of Badaur village, was just hours away from starting a new chapter of his life when it was suddenly cut short.
