An elderly couple was found covered in stab wounds inside a Queens apartment Saturday night after police were called to a horrifying scene in Fresh Meadows, authorities said.

Officers rushed to a garden apartment at 194-15 64th Avenue around 8 p.m. on Saturday after receiving a 911 call reporting an assault in progress, according to police.

When officers entered the apartment, they discovered a 71-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Both victims were still alive when emergency responders arrived. EMS rushed the man to New York-Presbyterian Hospital and the woman to North Shore University Hospital in critical condition.

But despite efforts to save them, both victims died soon after, authorities said.

Police have not released the names of the victims pending family notification.

No arrests have been made, and investigators are still working to determine what led to the deadly attack.

The brutal double stabbing has left residents in the Fresh Meadows neighborhood shaken as detectives continue searching for answers in the case.

The investigation remains ongoing.
