Two young brothers were killed and another child was critically injured after a devastating crash in North Carolina that authorities say happened after their mother allegedly drove away from a traffic stop.
The crash happened just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, in Fayetteville, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Authorities said a trooper attempted to pull over the vehicle when the driver, identified only as the children’s mother, allegedly drove off. Moments later, the vehicle lost control and slammed into a tree on Cedar Creek Road.
State troopers said the car was going 111 mph at the time of the crash.
Two brothers were killed in the wreck, according to local reports. A third child was ejected from the vehicle and rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. The child was later airlifted to another hospital the next day.
Troopers said all three children were under the age of 10. None of them were in a car seat, according to reports.
The children’s mother, who has not been publicly identified, was not seriously hurt and is expected to recover.
A woman who lives near the crash site said the wreck happened in an instant.
“Within seconds, it was the speed, the thud, and then silence,” resident Sara Wallace said.
Wallace also noted that the curves along Cedar Creek Road can make the area especially dangerous when vehicles are traveling at high speeds.
The crash remains under investigation as troopers work to determine what led up to the deadly wreck.

Please tell me that this woman will be locked up and throw away the key!! Three innocent children in that car, and no regard for their lives?! What a disgrace! She is a murderer, and deserves to be treated as such!!!
Premeditated murder is in there somewhere. Why should the American tax payers have to feed and house this ignorance the rest of their lives. There is scam money involved with this.
