A Florida mother has been arrested after authorities say she brutally abused her 8-year-old daughter, left her home alone overnight and forced her to eat expired food or food from the trash because regular food in the house was supposedly for “guests.”
Naseline Timouche, 27, is facing charges of aggravated child abuse with great bodily harm and child neglect, according to authorities.
Deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office met with Timouche and her young daughter on Saturday, according to a probable cause arrest affidavit.
The girl reportedly had numerous scars and marks on her body.
According to investigators, the child told deputies that her mother would leave her alone for “extended periods of time,” including overnight. She also claimed her mother would wake her up in the middle of the night “for no apparent reason” and beat her with a charging cord.
The girl allegedly told deputies she had scars on her body from the beatings.
Authorities said the child also reported being hit with a frying pan and a spatula.
“The victim stated to detectives that she is not allowed to eat in her residence because the food is for ‘guests,’” deputies wrote in the affidavit. “Therefore she can eat expired foods or food from the trash.”
A witness told investigators she met the girl about two months ago and believed something was wrong. The witness said she would feed the child and allow her to stay at her home.
The witness also said she saw the girl walking alone near her home on Friday night and took the child inside.
After being read her Miranda rights, Timouche allegedly admitted to hitting her daughter with a charging cord.
She also allegedly admitted that she came home at 5 a.m. Saturday after being out all night and never called 911 after realizing her daughter was missing, according to the complaint.
Deputies accused Timouche of knowingly failing to provide the child with basic care and supervision.
“The defendant knowingly and willfully failed to provide her children with the care, supervision and services necessary to maintain the child’s physical and mental health that a prudent person would consider essential for the well-being of a child,” deputies wrote.
Timouche was arrested and booked into the Miami-Dade Jail, where she is being held without bond.
