A Chicago father was arrested in connection with the shooting of his 9-month-old daughter at a McDonald’s in the south side of the city.
Kenneth Mosby, 23, was charged in connection with the shooting of his child in the Washington Park neighborhood on Tuesday, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
The police said that the girl’s mother went into a McDonald’s at 70 E. Garfield Blvd. and left her inside the car with her boyfriend. Surveillance cameras at the fast food restaurant showed the girl being shot once while she was in the car with Mosby, court records reveal.
The infant was injured below her right ear and above her left eyebrow.
When the mother came back from McDonald’s, she got into her car, looked at the rearview mirror, and noticed blood coming out of the girl’s nose, according to a police report. When the mother opened the back door of the car, she found her baby seriously injured and bleeding “profusely.”
The mother then rushed the baby to Comer Children’s Hospital where she was admitted in critical condition.
Mosby was arrested on Thursday, but Police didn’t reveal further details about the incident.
“The child may have been inside of a vehicle,” crisis responder Andrew Holmes said, according to ABC 7 Chicago.
“But the key, who had the gun? And where did this gun come from? And who owns this gun?”
The father, who has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery, is scheduled to appear in court on December 6.
The Judge assigned to the case ordered Mosby to remain detained without bond.
Why these young women pick such losers to have children with is beyond me. This loser is a complete low life pos. It appears her parents didn’t do a very good job and probably lived the same lifestyle.
