A Louisiana woman is behind bars after allegedly attacking her own granddaughter over missing meth — and the arrest led to a massive drug bust inside her home.
Margo Lynn Pattum, 62, was arrested last week in Jennings, Louisiana, after her juvenile granddaughter told police that Pattum had strangled her during an argument. The reason? Pattum believed the girl had stolen her stash of methamphetamine, according to a statement from the Jennings Police Department.
Officers responded to the scene on Thursday and quickly launched an investigation. After speaking with the victim, police obtained a search warrant for Pattum’s residence — and what they reportedly found inside shocked even seasoned officers.
Inside the home, police say they uncovered a drug buffet: methamphetamine, crack cocaine, marijuana, and multiple unidentified pills. Officers also discovered three firearms, including one that had been reported stolen. To top it off, drug paraphernalia was found throughout the house.
Pattum herself was searched during the arrest, and officers allegedly found a container of crack cocaine on her. But the drama didn’t end there — while being transported to jail, she reportedly tried to ditch another container of suspected crack cocaine by stuffing it behind the seat in the patrol car.
She now faces a laundry list of charges: nine counts of drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of possessing a firearm in the presence of a controlled substance, obstruction of justice, and additional charges related to the alleged assault.
Pattum is being held on $20,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing, and more charges may be pending.
