An 8-year-old girl and her father were gunned down by a man allegedly disguised as a food delivery driver in what prosecutors describe as part of a series of “targeted” shootings.
The suspect, 33-year-old Jazz Reid, is now on trial in London on attempted murder charges connected to the November 2024 attack, according to the BBC. Reid has pleaded not guilty.
Authorities said the young girl and her 34-year-old father were sitting in a car when Reid allegedly opened fire, unleashing 11 bullets. The father was struck five times and the girl twice, but both miraculously survived.
Prosecutor Michael Goodwin KC told the court this week that the shooting was one of three “planned and executed with precision” attacks tied to Reid. Nearly two weeks earlier, shots were fired at an address linked to the father, though no one was injured. On October 9, 2024, a man sitting in his Notting Hill home was shot and wounded in another attack investigators believe Reid carried out.
Prosecutors claim Reid posed as a Deliveroo driver, using an e-bike to carry out all three shootings. A 9mm self-loading pistol allegedly connected to the crimes was later found hidden under a concrete slab outside his home, with DNA evidence tying him to the weapon.
The Crown Prosecution Service and Metropolitan Police have declined to comment while the case is ongoing.
