A tragic night in Texas has left a family grieving after a teenage girl was fatally shot at a party, and the alleged shooter is still at large.

Deshawn Suggs, 18, is wanted for murder in the death of 17-year-old Alianna Ujueta, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Thursday. The shooting took place on September 28 in Atascosa, Texas, at a party on Luckey Road.

According to authorities, a fight broke out at the gathering shortly before 2 a.m. and spilled into the street. That’s when gunfire erupted. Deputies found Ujueta lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the head. A witness reported that a dark pickup truck drove over her before speeding away from the scene.

Nearly two months later, investigators say Suggs is the person responsible. Law enforcement recovered clothing, jewelry, and spent shell casings at the scene, though officials have not detailed how they identified Suggs as the suspect.

Suggs faces additional charges, including unlawful carrying of a weapon from an incident just days before the shooting, as well as previous charges for burglary, robbery, and making a terroristic threat from February.

Ujueta’s family is heartbroken. Her older brother said she “would want to be remembered by the love that she had for her family,” while her sister shared, “We’re missing her. It’s really hard.”

Authorities are urging anyone with information on Suggs’ whereabouts to come forward.
