Seeking Sister Wife star Garrick Merrifield is facing legal trouble after being arrested in Colorado on a domestic violence charge.

The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Merrifield, known for his role on the hit TLC reality series, was taken into custody on misdemeanor domestic violence and obstructing telephone service. According to online jail records, he was booked on November 24 and has since been released. It remains unclear whether he has entered a plea or hired an attorney.

The arrest comes just days after Merrifield publicly celebrated the birth of his daughter with his wife, Lorrana.

Merrifield and Lorrana, who is originally from Brazil, married in 2024 and share a plural marriage with Garrick’s former wife, Dannielle. Garrick and Dannielle were legally married for a decade and share three children. The two divorced in 2020 to allow Garrick to marry another woman, a storyline that played out on Seeking Sister Wife.

Garrick has often claimed he was spiritually led to pursue plural marriage, and the couple began searching online for additional partners before eventually joining the cast of the TLC series, which premiered in 2018.

  1. I had to do a double take on the photo – for the first second or two I was thinking it was Benedict Cumberbatch!

And …uhm …. plural marriage? Is that a version/form/offshoot of polygamy? I’m not sure I’ve heard the term (or maybe I’ve heard it referred to differently). It kind of sounds like it, plus it says they were/are on a TLC show that centers around that kind of relationship set up ….. yikes. To each his own I guess. I hope the new mom and baby are ok and safe.
