Cortney Bartholomew, Brad Bartholomew (Wexford County Sheriff's Office)

A 22‑year-old Michigan woman who was almost full‑term pregnant was found dead — and authorities now say her own mother and stepfather are responsible.

Rebecca Park vanished from her home in Boon Township on Nov. 3, when she was 38 weeks pregnant. Her body was discovered on Nov. 25 in a wooded area in the Manistee National Forest. Her baby, however, was nowhere to be found.

Her mother, Cortney Bartholomew, 40, and her stepfather, Bradly Bartholomew, 47, have been arrested and face charges including murder, torture, and assault of a pregnant person causing miscarriage or stillbirth. Prosecutors say the pair allegedly forced Rebecca into a vehicle, drove her into the forest, stabbed her, and then cut the baby from her womb — killing both mother and child. Officials described the crime as “premeditated torture and murder.”

Investigators say they believe the remains found in the forest are Rebecca’s. An autopsy revealed she was no longer pregnant at the time of her death. The infant’s body has not been recovered, and the search is ongoing.

In addition to the mother and stepfather, other family members have been accused on unrelated charges: her fiancé, Richard Lee Falor, was arrested on drug‑related counts, while her younger sister, Kimberly Park, is charged with tampering with evidence, lying to police, and filing a false report. Neither has been charged in connection with Rebecca’s death.

The case has shocked the community. Friends and extended family members have described Rebecca as a loving young woman who was days away from motherhood — now gone under horrifying circumstances. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and they are urging anyone with information to come forward.
