The family of a young woman from Texas A&M University says they’re still searching for answers after she was found dead near campus hours after attending a football‑game tailgate.
Brianna Aguilera was discovered early Saturday, Nov. 29, at a student apartment complex in Austin, TX — just hours after attending a tailgate before the rivalry game between Texas A&M and University of Texas. Her family has said the only thing they know for sure is that she attended the tailgate; what happened next remains unclear.
The local police department said there is currently no evidence of foul play, but they still investigating the circumstances around her death. The cause of death has yet to be determined by the medical examiner.
Those close to Brianna described her as a bright, ambitious student — a high school graduate who had earned honors and was studying at the Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M, with dreams of becoming a lawyer. Her family launched a GoFundMe to cover expenses, and in the message they described the unknown circumstances surrounding her death as heartbreaking and called for more transparency about what happened that night.
Friends, classmates and the wider community have expressed shock and grief, as many worry about unanswered questions rather than closure. In the meantime, Brianna’s loved ones continue to hope for clarity and justice in what remains a tragic and mysterious loss.
