A quiet Oregon neighborhood turned into a real-life action scene when a pickup truck went fully airborne and slammed into a family’s home in the middle of the night.
“I didn’t expect a flying truck,” homeowner David Brudnok told KGW after the shocking crash ripped through the ground floor of his Tigard house just before 3 a.m. on Feb. 13.
“I just heard this, ‘Boom!’ And the house shakes,” he said. “I get down the stairs, and I realize the whole front of my house is completely just gone.”
According to the Tigard Police Department, officers had received reports of a truck speeding and driving recklessly moments before the crash. Investigators say the driver, identified as 33-year-old Jacob Hankins, was heading west on SW Scholls Ferry Road when he struck a dirt mound.
That impact launched the truck roughly 100 feet into the air. The vehicle narrowly missed a brick wall before crashing straight into the home on SW Larkwood Place.
Doorbell camera footage from a neighbor shows the jaw-dropping moment the truck soars through the air before plowing into the lower level of the house.

Inside were Brudnok, his wife, and their three young children.
Miraculously, the entire family was upstairs at the time — and no one was hurt.
“I thank God that everyone was upstairs when it happened,” Brudnok said. The family escaped through the back of the home as debris covered the front.
When officers arrived, Hankins was reportedly unconscious inside the wrecked truck. He and a passenger were trapped and had to be pulled from the vehicle by first responders. Both were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
Hankins now faces charges of reckless driving and recklessly endangering others.
The house, however, suffered major structural damage, with the entire ground floor heavily impacted by the crash.
For now, the Brudnok family is staying in a hotel, waiting to learn how much of the destruction their insurance will cover — and still trying to process how a speeding truck nearly turned their home into a tragedy.
