A Tennessee woman is heading to prison after a love affair turned deadly — and a pastor lost his life.

Latoshia Daniels, 46, was sentenced this week to 20 years behind bars for the second-degree murder of 36-year-old Brodes Perry. She also received 11 months and 29 days for criminal attempt to commit reckless endangerment for shooting and injuring Perry’s wife. The sentences will run at the same time.

The shocking case dates back to 2019.

Daniels met Perry and his wife years earlier at Saint Mark’s Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, where Perry served as pastor and Daniels was a member of the congregation. According to her defense attorney, Daniels initially sought counseling at the church for issues in her own marriage. That’s when, the defense claims, Perry kissed her — and an affair began.

By the spring of 2019, Perry and his wife had moved to Collierville, Tennessee, just outside Memphis, where he became a pastor at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church. Daniels followed the relationship across state lines.

At one point, Perry allegedly told Daniels that his wife would allow the relationship to continue and even floated the idea that the two women could be “sister wives.” But by April 2019, he had ended the affair.

Days later, Daniels bought a gun.

On April 4, 2019, she drove to Perry’s home. According to testimony, she spoke with Perry’s wife outside the house — who told her she had no idea about the affair. When Perry arrived, the three talked. Eventually, Perry told Daniels that his wife would walk her to her car. Daniels reportedly wanted Perry to walk her instead. He refused.

What happened next changed everything.

According to her attorney, Daniels “broke” in that moment. She shot Perry while screaming that he had broken her heart.

Perry’s wife ran to a neighbor’s home for help. When she returned, Daniels shot her in the shoulder. Perry died from his injuries. His wife survived.

At sentencing, Daniels apologized, telling the court she “never meant for any of this to happen” and said she was struggling with mental health issues at the time.

“I’m sorry,” she said. “I know what I did. I wasn’t in the best health. And I know it doesn’t take away what happened, but please know that I’m Godly sorrowful and I’d ask that you extend grace and mercy.”

The judge was not persuaded.

“That’s senseless,” the court said. “To kill someone because he would not walk to her car… a broken heart does not justify someone dying.”

Daniels’ attorney has indicated that the defense plans to seek a new trial and pursue an appeal.

For one Tennessee family, however, the damage is already done — and a moment of heartbreak ended in irreversible tragedy.

  1. He didn’t need to be murdered, but on the other hand, this person wasnt fit to be a pastor. Having an affair and proposing a plural wife relationship, he was a POS.
